Wimborne Chess Club was founded in 1977, and is primarily based in the function room of The Olive Branch in Wimborne. With over 40 members, it is one of the largest and most active clubs in the Bournemouth and Dorset regions.

The club's meeting night is every Monday from 7pm until 11pm at the Olive Branch, with some league matches and occasional events held at the Wimborne Town Football Club Sports Bar.

The club operates teams in both the Bournemouth & District, and the Dorset Leagues. New members of any strength are always welcome.
Note that Juniors (under 16) must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
